Breast cancer, caused by the development of a malignant tumor in one or both breasts, mainly affects women, with an increased risk in those over 50 years. According to world statistics, one million cases of this cancer are diagnosed each year and 400,000 women die. Here are the main factors that increase the risk of breast cancer.

Breast cancer, like all cancers, requires early detection that would greatly increase the chances of recovery. For this, one must always be attentive to his body to be able to detect any change or abnormality that could indicate the presence of a tumor. Among the symptoms of breast cancer:

  • Feel one or more balls in the breast
  • Redness or skin of the breast that peels
  • Deformed breast
  • Unexplained bleeding or bleeding from the nipple
  • An inverted nipple
  • The presence of ganglia in the armpits

The observation of one or more of these symptoms requires a medical consultation that would diagnose the possible development of cancer cells and thus accelerate and promote their treatment.

Risk factors

Several elements promote the development of cancer cells and increase the risk of breast cancer. Among them we find:

  • Genetics: If a family member has been diagnosed with breast cancer, the risk of having breast cancer is greatly increased
  • The onset of menstruation at an early age
  • Late menopause
  • Age: The risk of breast cancer is increased among older women (between 50 and 69 years)
  • Absence of pregnancy or first late pregnancy (after 35 years)
  • Long-term use of oral contraceptives
  • Cancer history in women (ovarian or cervical cancer)
  • Overweight
  • Smoking
  • A poor diet

In fact, the foods you consume play a very important role in preserving or altering your health. According to a study conducted by Professor Candyce Kroeke of the Kaiser Permanente Center in California, women diagnosed with breast cancer who consume whole milk products are more likely to die from it, compared to those who consume lean dairy products. This is because dairy products (especially those in the United States and Western countries) are made from milk from pregnant cows and therefore contain a higher level of progesterone and estrogen. The latter promotes the growth of mammary cells and cancerous cells receptive to this hormone.
However, low-fat or low-fat dairy products also contain these hormones, but in small quantities. They still represent a risk.

To ensure that the consumption of dairy products has any impact on the risks of breast cancer recurrence and mortality rate, a team of researchers decided to study, over a period of 12 years, the evolution of the health status of a group of women who ate the following whole dairy products:

  • Ice cream (with milk)
  • The flan
  • Cheese
  • Yogurt
  • Butter
  • Whole milk
  • Evaporated milk (unsweetened)
  • The custard

At the end of this study, researchers were able to deduce that women who ate one or more whole dairy products were 64% more likely to die, regardless of the cause, and 49% more likely to succumb to cancer; women who consumed a smaller amount or who ate low-fat dairy products. However, the causal link has not been formally established. But in these kinds of critical situations, prevention would be better than cure.
Moreover, if you are diagnosed with early breast cancer (or to prevent the disease), do everything in your power to reduce the risk of recurrence of the disease and increase your chances of to heal completely. To do this :

  • Avoid processed foods and sugar
  • Stop drinking alcohol
  • Avoid excessive weight gain
  • Exercise regularly
  • Stop smoking
  • Follow medical prescriptions scrupulously

A final and very important point: the consumption of dairy products made from cow’s milk is strongly discouraged because of its harmful effect on health. In fact, cows are supplemented with growth hormone to increase their milk productivity, and when this substance enters the human body, it can cause hormonal disorders, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and also contribute to the spread of cancer cells. . So prefer goat’s milk.
